Inspirations II

In common with many British children of my generation I spent some time hiding behind the sofa (actually under the coffee table in my specific case) while watching Doctor WhoMurderous mannequins, an inflatable plastic chair that envelops and suffocates a hapless victim - is it any wonder I grew up warped?  But chief of these deliciously sinister pleasures was The Master, played first (and best, in my opinion) by the late Roger Delgado.  The master in my novella title is quite unrelated but I like to think the seeds of depravity were sown at a tender age...

Inspirations



Some of my work is inspired by films and television programmes which made a lasting impression on me.  For example, my novella The Ensnaring of Susan contains elements inspired by Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo (Susan's transformation to "April") and Carry On Screaming (the mannequin factory scene).
